For organizers
Selling tickets, promo codes and promoter commission
How a sale works
- A buyer picks tickets; those units are held for 30 minutes while they pay. Held-but-unpaid tickets return to the pool when the hold expires.
- Payment is taken by Paystack and verified by Abonten.
- Tickets are issued to the buyer, and 100% of your ticket price is recorded as a pending earning for you.
- The buyer receives their tickets in the app and by email.
Buyers can hold at most 50 of one ticket type and 100 tickets per order, and one order per event at a time.
Promo codes
Open your event › Promo codes (web: Manage › Events › event; app: Organizer › Events › event › Promo codes).
- A code applies a percentage discount to the ticket price for your event only.
- You can set how many times it may be used and edit or delete it later; deleting does not affect tickets already bought with it.
- Buyers enter the code at checkout; the discount shows before they pay. Abonten limits how fast one account can try codes to stop guessing.
- Your insights show how many sales used each code.
Promoter commission
Where the feature is available, you can offer people who bring buyers a commission of 1% to 30% of the ticket price, set per event under Promoter commission. When someone buys through a promoter's share link, the commission is paid to the promoter as Abonten Credit once the sale settles, and charged to you as a deduction on your ledger at that moment. Refunds, cancellations and chargebacks reverse it. Turn it off at any time for future sales.
Insights
Open your event › Insights (web: ?tab=insights; app: the event's overview): sales over time, tickets sold by type, promo-code usage, returning attendees, revenue, and the attendee list. The Dashboard (web: Manage › Dashboard; app: Organizer home) aggregates all your published events: gross sales, tickets sold, active events, upcoming events, items needing attention and recent activity.
Sharing your event
Use Share on the event page. When the Abonten Rewards programme is live, share links carry a referral code so the sharer can be rewarded for sales they bring in.
Sold out and waiting lists
Sales stop automatically when a ticket type's quantity is reached. Abonten does not have a waiting list; increase the quantity from Edit if you have more capacity.
