Reporting a problem

What you can report

Events, places, event reviews, place reviews, user reviews, highlights, messages, conversations, users and organizers — each has a Report option in its menu.

How to report

  1. Choose Report.
  2. Pick a reason: spam · fraud or scam · misleading · harassment · inappropriate · fake listing · safety · copyright · impersonation · other.
  3. Describe what is wrong (up to 2,000 characters) and attach screenshots or files if useful.
  4. Submit. You will see a confirmation.

You can have one open report per item; a second report on the same item is not accepted until the first is decided. Reports are limited to ten per hour per account. You cannot report your own account.

What happens next

Reports go to Abonten's moderation team. Depending on the reason and what they find, they may leave the content up, restrict a listing (it cannot be featured), hide it while investigating, remove it, remove an organizer's or owner's reply to a review, or suspend or ban an account. Safety, fraud, harassment and exploitation reports are prioritised.

For privacy reasons we do not share the detailed outcome of a report with the reporter.

If something was done to your content or account

Abonten does not have a formal appeals form yet. Contact support through the app or website; a staff member with the right permission can review the decision and reverse it if it was wrong. See Restricted accounts.

Emergencies

If someone is in danger, contact the Ghana Police Service or emergency services first. Abonten reports are not monitored around the clock.

If content on Abonten uses your work without permission, report it with the copyright reason and describe the work and your rights to it.
