For organizers

Getting verified as an organizer

A Verified badge next to your name tells ticket buyers that Abonten has checked who is behind your events.

It is optional. You can create, publish and sell tickets for events whether or not you are verified. Nothing about how your events work changes.

How to apply

  1. Open Manage › Dashboard on the web and choose Organizer verification, or Account › Organizer verification in the app.
  2. Say what kind of organizer you are.
  3. Add at least one document.
  4. Choose Send for review.

What to send, by kind of organizer

A registered business

You run events through a registered company or business name. Send your business registration certificate. Add an operating permit, a licence or a TIN certificate if you have them.

An organisation, church, school or association

You organise on behalf of a body rather than for yourself. Send the body's registration document. If you are not the person named on it, add a letter on its letterhead saying you organise on its behalf.

An individual or informal organizer

You organise events in your own name and have no registered company. That is fine — most organizers in Ghana start this way, and you are not shut out.

Send whatever shows the events are really yours:

  • a booking confirmation from a venue
  • an event permit
  • flyers, tickets or press coverage from events you ran
  • a letter from a venue confirming you booked with them

Abonten does not ask for your Ghana Card, passport, driving licence or any other personal identity document, and you should not send one.

What happens next

  • Sending documents does not verify you on its own. A reviewer looks at what you sent.
  • We may come back and ask for something else before deciding.
  • You are notified when a decision is made, and told the reason if it is not approved.
  • If it is not approved, you can send a new request with different documents.

Abonten does not publish a review time. You will be notified when your request has been looked at.

What the badge means

It means Abonten reviewed documents supporting this organizer's identity or registration and their link to this account.

It is not a promise about any particular event, that it will go ahead, or that it will be run well or safely. Abonten does not endorse organizers.

Where it shows

Your badge appears next to your name on your event pages and on your public profile. It does not appear on event cards in lists.

When a badge is hidden or removed

  • If your account is suspended, the badge is hidden while the suspension lasts and comes back afterwards.
  • If your account is banned, the badge is removed.
  • If evidence turns out to be false, a reviewer removes the badge and tells you why. You may apply again.

Your documents

They are stored privately. Only Abonten reviewers can open them, through links that expire after a few minutes. They are never shown on your events or profile, never given to other users, and are deleted once they are no longer needed. The retention period is being confirmed — see the Privacy Policy.
